  • Transcripts: As of January 1, 2006, Texas State correspondence study students no longer receive a complimentary Texas State transcript upon completion of a correspondence course. Transcripts continue to be available from the Registrar’s Office, 111 J.C. Kellam Building, and may be requested in person, by mail, or by fax at 512.245.2367. The cost is $5 per transcript, payable by check, cash, or credit card. For more information, refer to the website of the Registrar's Office.
  • Returned Checks: If a check is returned for reasons other than an admitted bank error, you must repay within ten days with a cashier's check, money order, or credit card. A $25 service fee will be assessed and must be included with your payment. You may pay either in person at the cashier's windows on the first floor of the J.C. Kellam Building, or by mailing the payment to the following address:

    Texas State University-San Marcos
    Attn: Cashier's Office
    601 University Drive
    San Marcos, TX 78666-4616.

You must then present the paid receipt at the Office of Correspondence Studies to get your record cleared.
Cost of Course Materials
When determining the total cost of a correspondence course, it is important to consider not only enrollment and course fees, but also the cost of course materials. Course materials are not included in the course fee. To determine what the course materials for a particular course will cost, visit the Ed Map Online Storefront. There you will be able to quickly identify the cost of the study guide, textbook(s), and other required materials for the course in which you are enrolling.
Postage
You are responsible for paying the postage on assignments sent to the Office of Correspondence Studies. When postage due exceeds the postage attached to the assignments you submit, you must pay the Office of Correspondence Studies the postage due. Students who live outside of the U.S. must pay an additional $50 per course to cover international shipping costs. These charges do not apply to persons with APO and FPO addresses.
